Target 200 Membership Drive
In order to strengthen our influence and boost our finances we have started a membership drive to get us to 200 financial members - or beyond .

Like all of our members' businesses we need to increase revenue every year just to remain viable and as an association we face increased costs without the ability to pass those costs on.

To just to keep pace and represent the livestock transport industry’s interests we have to keep growing in members and in revenue.”

The 200 member target is critical to the LTAV for many reasons. Most importantly it allows us to go to the table with strength in numbers and be confident we will be listened to – as opposed to being politely dismissed as amateurs. In addition the number 200 also goes a reasonable way to providing a sustainable revenue base for the next 12 months.

As part of the push, we want to discuss the merits of establishing a driver category for LTAV membership at the conference before raising it at the following AGM for a final decision.

As part of this we are considering a special drivers' newsletter, equipment and other benefits such as clothing discounts specifically aimed at driver members and their families.

If every existing member recruited one new member the LTAV would overnight become one of Australia’s most powerful state based road transport associations.

We have produced and sent out flyers to all members - one to go under a windscreen wiper, the other for noticeboards, inviting membership.

The association wants members to become ambassadors for a day and help boost membership to 200 and beyond.

Annual General Meeting 07 August

Our AGM will be held on 07 August at the Lady Bay Resort, Warrnambool commencing at 3.30 pm sharp. All financial members have one vote each (one per member company). All positions including Delegates will be declared vacant and require nominations for replacements. Any member can submit a topic they wish to be discussed at this meeting by contacting Peter.

You must be a financial member for 2010/2011 to have a vote and be eligible to hold office
